Privacy Policy

Baby Log ("the app", "we", "us") is a simple feeding, nappy, sleep, and notes tracker for parents and caregivers. This page explains what information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal text.

What we collect

When you use Baby Log, we store:

• Account information: your email address and password (encrypted — we never see or store your plain-text password).
• Baby profile information: name, date of birth, and gender, if you choose to enter them.
• Logged entries: timestamps and details for feeds (type, amount in ml, or duration in minutes), nappy changes (wee/poo), and any free-text notes you write.
• Sharing information: if you generate a share code to connect a partner or co-parent to a baby's profile, we store which accounts are linked to which baby.

We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or device identifiers beyond what's strictly needed to keep you signed in.

How we use it

• To show you your baby's logged history, patterns, and the Insights feature within the app.
• To let you securely sign in and keep your data private to your account (and anyone you've explicitly shared a baby with via a share code).
• To let co-parents or caregivers who share a baby's profile see the same log in real time.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information to any third party.

Where it's stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, a hosted database provider, with industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted by row-level security so that only accounts linked to a given baby profile can read or write its entries.

Sharing your data

The only "sharing" that happens is the sharing you choose: generating a share code lets another person's account see and log entries for the same baby. We do not share your information with advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers.

Children's privacy

Baby Log is intended for use by parents and caregivers (adults), not by children. Baby profile information (name, date of birth, gender) is entered by a parent or guardian about their child, not by the child themselves. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Your rights and choices

• Access: all your data is visible to you within the app at any time.
• Correction: you can edit or delete any logged entry, note, or profile detail directly in the app.
• Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time via Account → Delete account in the app. Where a baby profile is shared with another caregiver, deleting your account removes your access and personal data but does not delete the baby's history for the remaining caregiver.
• Portability: if you'd like a copy of your data, contact us using the details below.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and any baby profiles only you have access to are permanently deleted from our systems.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
